Good to know
- Features that exist only in one program (some effects, fields, add-ins) may be simplified.
- Password-protected documents are not supported, and macros inside the file are not run.
- RTF is an old format: the file is noticeably larger than a DOCX, and newer features are simplified.
- Files up to 300 MB are accepted.

DOC vs RTF
DOC
A DOC file is the older, legacy Microsoft Word format (Word 97-2003), stored as a proprietary binary format. Still shows up in old archives and email attachments, but Word itself has defaulted to DOCX since 2007.
