• A list of objects becomes the records; if the list sits inside an object (for example {"items": [...]}), the first list found is used
• Keys keep their original order, and keys that appear only in later objects are not lost
• A valid XML file: <root> with one <row> per record, and special characters like & and < escaped
• Lists inside an object become repeated tags, for example <tags>x</tags><tags>y</tags>
• null values become empty tags
• Nested objects and lists keep their structure.

Good to know

• The file must be strict JSON: comments, trailing commas and single quotes make it invalid and the conversion will fail with the position of the error.
• The tags are always <root> and <row>, and field names are made valid (spaces and symbols become underscores). Rename them in a text editor if your system expects other names.
