Kept
- H.264, H.265 (HEVC, the iPhone and Android default) and other common codecs are read
- A looping animation at 12 frames per second, 480 pixels wide, with a color palette made specially for your clip so it does not look banded
- Videos smaller than 480 pixels wide are not scaled up
Good to know
- Only the first 20 seconds are converted.
- GIF has no sound, and 256 colors per frame, so photos look grainier than the video. A 20-second clip can reach several MB.
- HDR video is converted to normal colors first, so the animation does not look washed out.
- Files up to 150 MB are accepted. Long or very high-resolution videos can take several minutes, and a conversion that runs past about 4 minutes is stopped with a message.
