Good to know

Copy-protected (DRM) files cannot be converted.
MP3 supports 48 kHz at most, so a 96 kHz file is reduced to 48 kHz, and surround sound (5.1) is mixed down to stereo.
Embedded cover art is not carried over. Only the sound is converted.
Lossy compression permanently removes some detail. Keep your original if you want to archive the recording.
